Teen Finance Course in Broward County: Real-Life Money Skills for Ages 13–16

This September, Sunny Shores Academy is launching a 12-week teen finance program in Broward County designed to teach real-life money skills, without boring lectures or complicated math.
Money, Freedom & Real Life (Ages 13–16)
This isn’t a traditional finance class.
It’s a hands-on, discussion-based experience where students learn how money actually works in the real world.
Over 12 weeks, students will learn how to:
- Earn money (jobs, side income, business basics)
- Manage spending without feeling restricted
- Make smart decisions (peer pressure, impulse spending, trade-offs)
- Understand real-life costs in Florida (rent, food, lifestyle)
- Build savings habits
- Understand how money grows over time
- Create a personal plan for independence
Real Scenarios Your Teen Will Experience
This course is built around situations they’ll actually face:
- “You got your first job” → how money really comes in
- “Where did my money go?” → spending awareness
- “Can I afford this?” → real-life decision making
- “Moving out at 18” → the true cost of independence
- “Job vs business” → different ways to earn
- “The $1,000 decision” → short-term vs long-term thinking
By Week 12, students present their own personal life and money plan.

If your child is interested in creativity, innovation, and building real-world business skills, we are offering a 12-week Entrepreneurship program (ages 13–16). Students will:
- Brainstorm and refine their own business ideas
- Create branding, logos, and marketing plans
- Learn pricing, budgeting, and basic cash flow
- Gain sales and pitching skills, plus experience using AI tools
- Launch a mini-business and present their results
This course is designed to give homeschoolers skills schools don’t teach, while keeping learning hands-on, interactive, and fun.
