Fall 2026 Enrollment: What to Expect
Fall is right around the corner, and if you're considering academic tutoring, homeschool support, or one of our specialized programs for your child, now is the time to get started. Here's exactly what to expect as you enroll with Sunny Shores Academy this season.
Step 1: Book a Discovery Meeting
Everything starts with a free Discovery Meeting. This is a relaxed conversation, either in person or over Zoom, where we get to know your child's learning style, strengths, and goals. We'll talk through:
- Your child's current academic standing and any past assessments or IEPs
- What's worked well for your family so far, and what hasn't
- Your goals for the school year, whether that's catching up, staying ahead, or exploring a new subject
There's no pressure and no obligation. It's simply the first step in building a plan that actually fits your child.
Step 2: We Build a Personalized Plan
After your Discovery Meeting, we put together a learning plan tailored to your child, not a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Depending on which service you choose, this might include:
- One-on-one academic tutoring sessions
- Duo-Learning Pods for a more social, small-group setting
- Homeschool curriculum planning and consulting
- IEP development and advocacy support
- Reading assessments and literacy-focused instruction
We'll walk you through the plan, answer any questions, and set a session schedule that works for your family's routine.
Step 3: Sessions Begin
Once your plan is set, your child's learning sessions begin. Most sessions run 60 to 90 minutes and are designed around your child's pace, not a rigid timeline. For the first few sessions, parents are welcome to observe if that helps everyone feel comfortable.
Step 4: Ongoing Feedback
Every month, you'll receive feedback summarizing what was covered and how your child is progressing. This makes it easy to stay in the loop and share updates with your child's teacher, if applicable.
